Ocean Roasted Nuts
Great healthy energy snack packed with good fats and tonnes of vitamins. This recipe offers a refreshing alternative to the normal nuts that are often over-salted with refined table salts that are harsh for the body. Handy to stick in your bag and mix with dark chocolate pieces, raisins or cranberries for a cheeky treat!
Ingredients
2 cups raw almonds & walnuts or cashews mix
½ cup raw hazelnuts
½ cup raw pecans
¼ cup pure maple syrup
1-2 tsp finely ground dried seaweed (any or a combination of kombu, nori, dulse, sea lettuce)
1 tsp sea salt
1/8 – 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Preheat oven to 150 degrees Celsius Mix all ingredients together in a shallow baking pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until nuts are browned, stirring occasionally. Break up any clumps and let cool. Store in a glass jar. Provides 3 cups.
